"Earlier this summer, an East Austin bar and music venue, The Lost Well, known for its metal and punk rock vibes announced that it was going to eventually close on 2412 Webberville Road. Its last day of service was on October 27. On August 4, Lost Well co-founder and co-owner Marcello Murphy shared on his public Facebook page that the bar’s landlord, Raul Aguilar (according to KVUE), is in the middle of selling the bar. When the sale was finalized, the bar had 60 days to leave the property. Per Statesman, Aguilar offered to sell the address to Murphy, but the asking price of $3.5 million cash/$4.2 million financing was too much. Eater asked Murphy if the team would relocate Lost Well to a new address, and he responded: “We would love to, but there’s no way we could afford to do it. Plus, there’s not many available spots that fit what we do.” The shutter announcement shared that they’ll share any information about “future relocation plans” if they have them. Couple Murphy and Tasha Murphy opened Iron Well in 2013 with a punk rock and metal ethos approach to concerts, drinks, and atmospheres. They had previously worked at revered now-closed dive bar Lovejoys; Murphy also bartended at the Webberville address’s previous bar Frontier. The two started a GoFundMe campaign to help pay their staff and fund the move out of the space. The bar is also going to be selling merchandise like T-shirts. Lost Well has been home to assorted food trucks through the years, including vegan Mexican truck Lick It Up, vegan barbecue truck BBQ Revolution, Dangerously Delicious Pies, and most recently, Bomb Tacos." - Nadia Chaudhury
