"In the heart of Burbank I noticed a new sushi restaurant at 3919 W. Riverside Drive called Yakumilands (also referred to as Yakumi), which opens with a grand opening offering patio seating under COVID-19 protocols and takeout and delivery on Thursday, March 11, followed by on-site dining beginning March 13. Backed by Innovative Dining Group principals Lee Maen and Philip Cummins along with PizzaRev founder Nicholas Eckerman, the concept is positioned as a more upscale fast-casual arm for the company, offering counter service and sit-down indoor service once available, plus takeout boxes in the style of recent Sugarfish-related spinoffs. The menu centers on rolls, hand rolls, nigiri, and a la carte items or increasingly robust combination packages. Initial hours are 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. for on-site dining as well as takeout and delivery, with an extension to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. I also note that Yakumi’s arrival comes amid pandemic-related shifts that may affect Burbank’s office-worker-driven daytime dining scene, and that it will start as an evening-focused option." - Farley Elliott
