"I report that the new Metairie restaurant opened on August 28 at 111 Veterans Boulevard (the former site of Ralph Brennan’s Heritage Grill) with kitchen vet Robert Bruce—who has worked in 42 restaurants—running the kitchen. Though Vega made his name with fancy beef, the Metairie spot makes seafood one of its prime focuses, even placing seafood before beef in the restaurant’s name. The menu includes cold seafood appetizers like ceviche, lobster cocktail, and tuna tartare; hot appetizers such as meatballs, escargot, and crab cakes; soups and salads; sandwiches including a meatball po‑boy and a lobster roll; and plenty of steak and seafood entrées. Hours are Monday–Friday 11 a.m.–2 p.m., Tuesday–Thursday 5 p.m.–9 p.m., and Friday–Saturday 5 p.m.–10 p.m., with a Tuesday–Friday happy hour from 4 p.m.–6 p.m. offering drink and snack specials like $6 meatball sliders." - Stephanie Carter
