"East Village karaoke bar Planet Rose owner Missy O’Reilly says that the shop’s door was broken and liquor was stolen from the premises on Sunday night. The damage “sucks,” she says, but it’s not a lasting issue. “It’s broken glass and stolen booze,” O’Reilly says. “It’s an easy fix compared to what people of color are dealing with in this country.” She posted a public statement on Facebook to let followers know that she wasn’t angry with the situation. “I don’t want people to start villainizing marginalized people because of this,” O’Reilly says." - Serena Dai
