"The Korean namesake restaurant from chef Yim that opened in 2011 moved up from two to three Michelin stars. In a press release Gwendal Poullennec said, “The originality and impeccable presentation at [the restaurant] New York created a distinct experience for our inspectors collectively.” Michelin noted this marks the first Korean restaurant in the U.S. to receive three stars, and the restaurant joined four others that retained their three-Michelin-star status: Eleven Madison Park, Le Bernardin, Masa, and Per Se. New York had not seen a new three-star restaurant since Eleven Madison Park in 2012." - Melissa McCart
