"Michael Fiorelli slings some of the city’s best pizzas at Cook’s Garden on Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice — but note it’s not forever, since he’ll shut down operations in September 2025 as that stretch of the block is redeveloped into a hotel and dining complex. Opened in March 2024, the pizza spot comes from the chef and his business partner Liz Gutierrez: The two went from running three ambitious restaurants in LA to serving just three kinds of pizza, a few appetizers, and chocolate chip cookies in a Westside garden. The focus clearly pays off — the pies here have the same crackly bottomed, chewy crusts as pizzas you might find in Naples, Italy. Be sure to check the mobile pizzeria’s Instagram for hours before heading to Venice.
