"Signs are planned to go up across West 46th Street between Eighth and Ninth avenues in Hell’s Kitchen to give the strip a more distinctive identity. “We’d love to reimagine [that stretch] and give it a distinctive identity,” said Times Square Alliance president Tom Harris. “If other neighborhoods have signs, why not us?” The corridor has existed since at least 1973, opening with 16 restaurants along the stretch; today over 30 restaurants reside there." - Nadia Chaudhury
