"Opening in Hermosa Beach this spring, Attagirl will serve a California Mediterranean menu from chef Alice Mai, the current chef de cuisine and general manager of Fishing With Dynamite who will also be a partner. I expect coastal Mediterranean influences spanning southern Spain into Italy and Greece, with dishes like handmade and house-extruded pasta, fresh-baked pita, olive oil–dressed focaccia, and classic mezze including hummus and spicy feta. Taking over the former Día de Campo space on Hermosa Avenue, the open dining room will reflect a beachy vibe a few blocks from the ocean with pops of bright green and terracotta, accommodate around 100 diners, and include a portion that can be cordoned off for private dining; it shares a parking lot with Ryla.
