"Prince range: $$ The two Shawns — chef Shawn Naputi and business partner Shawn Camacho — built a pipeline from Guam straight to San Francisco when they opened Prubechu in 2014. The two Chamorro pros offer up one of the city’s most unfussy yet super flavorful menus five days a week. Pickle bags, a briny delight that goes for less than $10, land on the multicolored tablecloth next to nori-topped potato salad and the coconut-braised beef known as tinaktak. The outdoor patio game at Prubechu is unmatched, too; tents and outdoor heaters in a lot next door to the restaurant kept those roasted Japanese yams and ramekins of fina’denne’ alive and well throughout the worst of the pandemic. No culinary tour through the Bay is complete without a two-foot dive into the menu here. Best for: Big meals outdoors, annual Super Bowl specials, or grabbing a seat at the bar on a random Wednesday night. There’ll be a wait for those first two and no problem grabbing that bar seat." - Paolo Bicchieri
