Credit the overall interest in quality Asian cuisines to the myriad banh mi spots and noodle joints littered across the 626, including celebrated Vietnamese restaurant Golden Deli. Out of these lot, Pho Ngoon is a paragon of a Vietnamese noodle spot, serving Northern dishes from the city of Hanoi. Without much surprise, the beef pho here is stellar, well-balanced with a choice of more typical thin rice noodles or the wider, more tender Northern noodles. Opt for hulking beef rib bones to channel one’s inner carnivore. Crispy egg rolls are also delightful, perhaps not as cherished as the ones from crosstown rival Golden Deli, but still well-packed and tasty.
