"This restaurant from the hospitality company behind HG Sply Co. and Leela’s Wine Bar doesn’t serve chips and salsa — instead, enjoy homemade flour tortillas with butter. This spot is part steakhouse, part Tex-Mex restaurant, and part comfort food for Texans. Keep it simple with the Tex-Mex here and go for the chicken fajitas (they are on a $10 lunch special on Fridays), the combo fajitas that come with a puffy taco, or beef picadillo nachos. Inside is full of warm wood, stained glass, and comfy booths. The patio is great, too, even though the back side opens to the passing DART trains. As a bonus, this Deep Ellum spot comes with built-in free parking in front of the Continental Gin Building. The original location is in Rockwall, if you’re interested in a little drive. It offers online orders." - Amy McCarthy
