"An extremely popular Taiwanese import that has opened its first Nevada location in Chinatown’s Shanghai Plaza, drawing long lines for its beverages and baked goods. The counter-service shop is currently in training mode with temporary 9 a.m.–5 p.m. hours but — after the grand opening weekend beginning Dec. 6 — will switch to a permanent 7 a.m.–11 p.m. schedule; seating is available indoors plus a handful of outdoor seats. It specializes in premium coffees and teas (including several sea-salt options), a wide selection of European-, Danish-, Taiwanese- and Japanese-style breads and pastries, and an eye-catching assortment of whole cakes and slices marketed as affordable; examples include $3 blueberry cheesecake, Black Forest, chocolate cookie-crumb and strawberry slices, egg tarts, buns and brioche, and $29 8-inch cakes such as mango crème brûlée, sweet choco bear, tiramisu and Red Velvet. The chain operates more than 1,000 stores worldwide and has been a major hit in California." - Bradley Martin
