"B. Smith's was a restaurant opened in 1986 in the theater district by B. Smith, a lifestyle guru and restaurateur. It attracted a primarily black clientele but also crossed racial lines, becoming popular among those looking for upscale restaurants. The restaurant became a destination for upwardly mobile African-Americans and was known for its soul-food-driven, globally inspired menu.
