‘Pappygate’ Bandit Sentenced to 15 Years in Prison
"This distillery was among the targets of a high-profile bourbon theft ring led by Gilbert “Toby” Curtsinger, a former distillery worker who made off with tens of thousands of dollars' worth of spirits. The stolen haul included highly sought-after bottles such as Pappy Van Winkle—police recovered 20 cases in 2015—and was transported in a pickup truck concealed under a tarp. Curtsinger was indicted in 2015, later pleaded guilty to charges including receiving stolen property and theft by unlawful taking, and was sentenced to 15 years in prison." - Chris Crowley
