Gay4U - Review - Oakland - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"When Hella Vegan Eats’ three-year tenure at Classic Cars West ended, owner Sofi Espice rebranded as Gay4U. It’s been a roaming, mostly-brunch operation, with occasional pop-ups for pizza and other tasty items, all of it intended to build and nourish a thriving community during a challenging time. (“Community” gets tossed around all too often, but here, trans people of color eat for free.) Amid a crowdfunding campaign to help establish a proper space for performances and events, Gay4U churns out jackfruit tacos, chickpea-seitan burgers, and a well-loved “bruja bowl” full of roasted vegetables and witchcraft. If this isn’t peak Oakland positivity, nothing is." - Astrid Kane
