"Tilapia is the unofficial national fish of Ghana. Experiencing it at Chez Amis is a bucket-list activity for anyone who lives or visits the city. While the casual setting may not win any prizes for décor and, dare we say it, vibes, you’re here for the fish, which is delectably seasoned to the point where the flavour reaches the bones. It’s topped with fried onions and peppers, egg, and avocado, and comes with a choice of two sides, and three types of pepper sauces with spice levels ranging from “hot” to “why are you crying?” We recommend getting the attieke, a popular crushed fermented cassava side dish courtesy of our Ivorian neighbours. If you’re a fish or tilapia hater, you can still also have a wonderful meal with a range of fried and grilled meats, like chicken, turkey, goat, and snail." - eileen twum
