"La Especial is one of the last remnants of a Wynwood before PayByPhone. The Cuban cafeteria has been making chuletas, pan con bistec, and crispy chicken wings for over twenty years—at prices that feel just as frozen in time (a plate of six crispy wings and fries costs $7). The staff here will lend you an umbrella if it starts to rain and let you sample the lemonade first to make sure the sugar level is to your liking. It’s no wonder this place has managed to stick around for so long.
