Old Mates Pub - Review - South Street Seaport - New York - The Infatuation

"Old Mates Pub is an Australian bar serving Australian lager and meat pies to a crowd of many Australians. If you keep track of every new hot bar opening in New York—or maybe that’s just us—you might remember this place as being the three-floor bar with lines (of Australians) out the door when it first opened. But since then, it’s calmed down a bit, which means there’s ample space for a table of coworkers, a few dates sharing burgers and beers, and groups of friends who crowd around the pool table in the back and guzzle beers in between rounds. If you want a real dive with a little more history and poorly functioning toilets, try nearby Jeremy’s Ale House. But for a fancier bar that has a dance floor, serves alcohol in real glassware, and has an ambient soundtrack made up almost exclusively of Australian accents, Old Mates Pub might just be the place for you." - Willa Moore
