Regina’s Grocery Bed-Stuy Review - Bedford-Stuyvesant - New York - The Infatuation

"There are people who like sandwiches, and then there are people who like sandwiches so much that they must know where the closest sandwich is at all times, just in case. If you’re the second type of person, you should know about Regina's fourth location in Bed-Stuy. The casual space is decorated with toy cars and olive oil containers, and there are a few tables where you can eat a stacked sandwich with things like hot soppressata and roasted red peppers, or tuna and hot pepper paste. If you find yourself in Bed-Stuy with a fierce meatball sub craving, or if you show up to nextdoor Greenberg Bagels on a Saturday and find it mobbed with people who are somehow able to wait a long time for breakfast, Regina’s is a solid choice. A meatball sub for brunch never hurt anybody. photo credit: Willa Moore Food Rundown photo credit: Willa Moore Meatball Sub This is the sandwich we’ll return to Regina’s for. The bread gets soggy on the inside but maintains a crisp exterior, and the meatballs are well-seasoned and soft. photo credit: Willa Moore Uncle Jimmy The main flavor of the Uncle Jimmy is roasted red peppers. If that sounds like something you can get behind, order this. If not, consider an alternative. photo credit: Willa Moore Uncle John The classic Italian hero here has soppressata, mortadella, and prosciutto, but it’s not our favorite. The different layers don’t meld as well as we wish they would, and the whole sandwich leans dry overall." - Willa Moore
