"If you live in or around the Gold Coast, this tiny Belgian bakery housed on the ground floor of a condo building is probably already in your rotation. Even though “bread” is in the name, you’ll also find flaky kouign-ammans, a table piled high with so many baked goods it could rival a high school bake sale, and Belgian croissants that are soft and hefty, with an almost pizza dough-like texture. While the flavored croissants are hit-or-miss, the plain one is pleasantly reminiscent of a jumbo garlic knot—minus the garlic, herbs, and oil. For something even heftier, there are sandwiches and quiches too. The eggy tart doesn’t travel well (it devolves into a watery, spinachy mess) so try to snag a seat on the small patio and eat it fresh." - Veda Kilaru
