"On the surface, Giant seems like every other new American restaurant we’ve encountered over the past decade—meaning it has a minimalist aesthetic and a seasonal small plates menu that reads like a game of Mad Libs. So why do we take every possible opportunity to tell people to eat here? Because this white-brick-wall-and-wood filled spot manages to make a dish like “broccoli chickpeas mint” a must-order (it has a lot to do with fried garlic and honey) along with every other incredible thing on the menu that includes 45 unmentioned ingredients. The servers are always coolly enthusiastic about whatever they’re serving, and despite the small space you never feel cramped or desperate to get your check." - adrian kane, john ringor, veda kilaru
