"House Of Kabob is the perfect entry point for all the great Kurdish food in Nashville, and that’s saying something—the city has the largest Kurdish population in the US. The menu features kabobs in every combination imaginable: chicken, salmon, shrimp, sirloin, lamb shank, kubideh, gyro meat, you name it. The sirloin is particularly delicious and tender. Add some variety with some appetizers—we love the kashk, an almost-buttery blend of sauteed eggplant, cream of whey, garlic, and mint—and always order the Persian ice cream, a saffron-rosewater treat topped with whipped cream and pistachio. photo credit: Christen Clemens Food Rundown Kashk We could talk about this beautiful dip until the Titans make it to the Super Bowl (a very, very long time). Velvety and complex, it’s magnificent over mounds of rice and meat, on pita, or even straight from fork to mouth. It doesn't matter how you eat this dip, as long as you do. Falafel House of Kabob is best suited for carnivores, but the falafel is a solid choice for those looking to skip the meat. The outside is nicely browned and crunchy, while the inside is moist and well-spiced, and the light yogurt dipping sauce doesn’t overpower the fritters. This is falafel in its best form. House Ice Creams We’ve already talked about the saffron ice cream, but we gotta give the Kurdish coffee ice cream its flowers too. More like a sorbet in texture, this dessert is lightly sweet with plenty of coffee flavor coming through. The crushed pistachio on top seals the deal." - Bailey Freeman
