Aunty Jenny’s Kitchen - Review - Wembley - London - The Infatuation
"Unlike some family members’ homes, Aunty Jenny’s is somewhere you’re happy to stay for a while. This Caribbean spot near Wembley Stadium is a plain and functional space with a handful of tables and a row of stools that could feasibly fit an entire football squad. But it’s just as good for a solo meal as it is a casual team lunch. Although you don’t come for decor or vibe, you come for food. Jenny’s jerk chicken, although not the smokiest, is tender meat you’ll want more of. Rice and peas are soaked in gravy with hunks of carrot and cabbage, and a subtle taste of coconut running throughout. As is often the case with great cooking, a sauce brings it all together. This jerk gravy has flecks of chilli and the sweetness of ketchup throughout but is none too overpowering either way.
