"A fancy teppanyaki restaurant inside a bar inside a multi-concept nightlife complex inside the Moxy Downtown sounds like an audience suggestion for an off-the-rails UCB sketch. But it’s real and also our least favorite of the concepts we’ve been to at Level 8. The space is beautiful, but considering you might pay $220 for a cut of grilled meat, the food is underwhelming. Starters like wagyu dumplings and rock shrimp cakes are misses. And while the grilled meats are decent enough, there are comparable versions that cost much less nearby. Level 8 is a fun place for a wild night out, sure. But if you want to eat there, go to the South American steakhouse Qué Bárbaro down the hallway instead." - Brant Cox
