"The Gumbo Bros is a small counter-service spot on Atlantic Ave serving gumbo and po’ boys on plastic plates. Along with a bunch of LSU gear on the walls, there’s a large map showing the towns around Louisiana where all of the ingredients come from. The menu consists of three gumbos and three po’ boys, with a meat, seafood, and vegetable option for each. The dark gumbos are rich and spicy, while the po’ boys are served on bread flown in from New Orleans. Our order here is Nanny’s seafood gumbo, a fried catfish po’ boy, and a couple beers. You’ll start feeling closer to the towns on that map than Jay Street Metrotech a couple blocks away." - Matt Tervooren
