"Prague has a large Vietnamese community, and these days, every neighborhood in the Czech capital has an outstanding spot for tucking into a bowl of phởor a bánh mì. But one of the best is subterranean Pho Vietnam Anglicka, located a few minutes from Naměsti Mirů. You can get northern Vietnamese specialities like bun cha or the rice crepe bánh cuón, but first timers (or even twenty-first timers) should opt for the star anise and ginger-spiked beef pho, which, like most Vietnamese restaurants in Prague, has a Hanoi accent to it. Northern-style pho is headier, simpler, often with rare sliced beef, accompanied by pickled garlic and red bird’s eye chilis on the side, and generally less saccharine than its southern brethren in Saigon. Which is exactly what you’ll get here. Service is quick and casual, so if you’re looking for a prolonged meal, this isn’t the place. But if you need a fast, hearty phởfix, you’ve hit the bullseye." - David Farley
