"Oxford Street isn’t a place we usually recommend hanging around, but Filipino bakery Panadera is an excellent reason to tackle Bond Street tube station. From the outside, you’ll see customers sitting on a handful of short plastic white stools, hunched over sando boxes with complete concentration. Back pain is a background thought here, because the corned beef hash takes centre stage every time. While there isn’t much room inside the bright, white space to perch, the sturdy takeaway packaging means getting it to go is a legitimate option. Whether you eat in, standing outside, or on the Jubilee line, these sandwiches are some of the best in London. The sweet pandesal bread is toasted but soft, and the fillings are creative and perfectly executed. And if central London isn’t somewhere you want to be, know that their original bakery, which sells the same excellent stuff, is in Kentish Town. photo credit: Koray Firat photo credit: Koray Firat photo credit: Koray Firat photo credit: Koray Firat Food Rundown photo credit: Koray Firat Corned Beef Hash Sando A creamy beef and potato mash-up with a crispy coating and perfectly toasted pandesal slices. If you’re only getting one sando, it should be this one. photo credit: Koray Firat Chicken & Mushroom Sando The earthy mushroom and tender chicken is deep-fried in a panko-covered patty, which makes the whole thing end up tasting similar to a hearty chicken pie between bread—big yes from us. photo credit: Koray Firat Chicken Caesar Sando An elevated chicken mayo, this is a light sandwich that’s topped with a generous amount of parmesan. While it’s good, it doesn’t compare to its fried siblings." - Rianne Shlebak
