7 Great Speakeasies & Hidden Bars In San Francisco

"No passwords or special knocks needed to get into this Mission bar-within-a-bar. You’ll just snake your way through the narrow passageway of stools and two-tops at Dalva until you see a dark hallway. Keep going, and you’ll find yourself at The Hideout. This small windowless, split-level speakeasy is hot, body-to-body, and lit just by some dangling lights—a bit of a well-mannered mosh in a broom closet. The menu is focused on classic cocktails (think Manhattans and Negronis) made with top-shelf spirits. While Dalva is open daily, you’ll only be able to slink your way into The Hideout on Friday and Saturday nights." - julia chen 1, lani conway, patrick wong, ricky rodriguez
