"As if the name wasn’t obvious enough, the massive blue bagels splashed all over the outside of Boichik Bagels will let you know what’s happening here. This takeout spot is Fillmore Street’s AM destination for plump, chewy New York-style bagels. Since spreading the East Coast bagel gospel from their original Berkeley location, every Boichik has maintained their bagel supremacy, this outpost included. Any simple combination of bagel and spread will do, but we love the classic everything, which has the right amount of subtle malt flavor, with their thick and creamy chive spread that we want to slather on everything. Or for something more filling, get the generously stuffed lox sandwich. And you won’t need to run solely on smoked salmon and carbs—there’s plenty of coffee on hand, too. photo credit: Brit Finnegan" - Julia Chen
