"When our Cuban dad pronounces this bakery’s name, it sounds like “patty cake” and now we can’t stop calling it that too. Their Miller location is so big, you could throw a DJ behind the deli counter and turn the place into a nightclub (there’s already a little corner with armchairs and a table full of newspapers surrounded by stanchions—perfect for a VIP abuelito section). The bakery is set up like a restaurant, with tables and a long banquette where you can sit down and eat media noche sandwiches. If you’re looking for a quick snack, we love the croquetas de la casa, and their pastelitos de guayaba y queso are some of the flakiest we’ve ever eaten." - Virginia Otazo
