"Jane’s achieves the Nashville trifecta: excellent music, food, and cocktails all in one place. This shotgun-style bar is cozy with a hint of neon—just the way Nashvillians like it—and it features Americana and folk acts every night of the week on its shiny little stage. The food menu has stuff like crispy okra fries and deviled eggs with all the fixings, but the star of the show is the Nashville fried chicken sandwich—it’s juicy, flavorful, and has just the right balance of spices. The cocktails are good, too. Don’t miss the Atlas, a rye-based cocktail with pecan, bitter orange, and lime, or the Truffle Hunter that unexpectedly (and successfully) combines mezcal with truffle hot sauce and lime. photo credit: Casey Irwin photo credit: Casey Irwin photo credit: Casey Irwin Food Rundown photo credit: Casey Irwin Deviled Eggs We’re not sure what kind of southern witchcraft was used to make these deviled eggs, but they are some of the best you’ll ever put in your mouth. They’re rich and creamy with a hint of sour and spice, and you’ll find yourself ordering another round before you finish the first. photo credit: Casey Irwin Okra Fries Charred, tender, and topped with a healthy layer of chili crisp, Jane’s okra fries are a nice alternative to the usual french fries. The chili is more savory than spicy, and the okra has great crunch and body. photo credit: Casey Irwin Fried Chicken Sandwich It’s hard to stand out in a city full of fried chicken, but Jane’s Nashville hot sandwich manages to anyway. Perfectly fried, moist throughout, and topped with creamy-but-not-too-sweet coleslaw and pickles, it’s a very respectable addition to the city’s Hot Chickendom." - Bailey Freeman
