"When word spread that the Mel the Bakery and The Meat Hook people were taking over the old Hudson Diner space on Warren Street, a certain sect of high-speed-wifi-connected mountain people (or city people temporarily or permanently shacking up in said mountains) lost their minds. The diner car has indeed been spruced up, transmitting shiny, “remember the good old days of eggs?” Americana. Don’t get too attached to those eggs, though, seeing as Hudson Diner is dinner-only. The focus instead is on patty melts and their appetizer-and-salad peers. The savory stuff is more perfect in concept than execution. But the bartenders are friendly and the drinks will fix your frown, whether that’s a $13 cosmo you’re sipping, or the run-off from a Neapolitan ice cream sundae.
