Komeya No Bento Review - Marina - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"The Marina isn’t exactly a hotbed of Japanese restaurants—you’re more likely to bump into a luxury dogwear store (an actual thing) than a great homestyle spot you might find in Japantown or the Avenues. But the neighborhood finally has an option for Japanese bentos that stand up against the best in the city. The rice on the salmon truffle box is sweet and vinegary, and chicken katsu drizzled with a velvety house sauce is flawlessly fried. They also do chazuke with slow-simmered duck broth, and a ton of matcha drinks. Swing by this small counter-service spot on your way to a sunny picnic at Fort Mason, or when you want a rice-and-meat lunch that’s not Asian Box." - Julia Chen
