Trudy's North Star

Tex-Mex restaurant · Fireside Loop

"Trudy’s claims to have invented the Mexican martini—basically a margarita with olive brine—and while we can’t say for certain whether that’s true, there’s no doubt that they popularized it. Trudy’s is one of Austin’s longest-running Tex-Mex institutions, and while it might not be our favorite spot for enchiladas, queso, and margaritas, it gets the job done in a fun and lively atmosphere. Stop by to see what the Mexican martini is all about, but if you want some really good Tex-Mex, head to one of these spots." - Nicolai McCrary
