"The concept of a nighttime-only bakery is novel for most of us, but it’s old hat for Twentynine Palms residents. Every Thursday through Saturday from 6-9pm, locals line up outside Campbell Hill, a husband-and-wife-run bakery that sells homey staples like tomato soup, cheddar bagels, and pineapple coffee cake. But the main event is the pizza. These thick, decadent pies fall somewhere between pan and Detroit-style and feature toppings like fried zucchini and ricotta, or buffalo cauliflower with spinach and charred jalapeños. Just don’t get too attached. The toppings change daily and are announced on Instagram before they open. photo credit: Brant Cox" - Brant Cox
