"This historic restaurant is deep in the sestieri of San Polo, just over the Ponte delle Tette. There are only about 10 tables inside, and the terrazzo-floored room is covered with a collection of mirrors, paintings, and retired pieces of gondolas. In other words, it’s a pretty classic and gorgeous place to have dinner. Start with a plate of fried seafood, and follow suit with your primi or secondi with more seafood—either pastas or a whole grilled fish. All the vegetables here come from the Osti in Orto, a collective garden on the island of Sant’Erasmo, so your carbon footprint is actually more than that plate of crispy zucchini. End your meal with the most nostalgic of Venetian desserts, gianduiotto." - Gillian McGuire
