"At some point during your drive through the countryside, you’ll probably turn to your partner and ask, “Should we just move up here? Quit our jobs and live off the land?” You rationalize why it wouldn’t work, but then you arrive at Weiss Ferments, where Erica and Brian Weiss are doing exactly what you were just daydreaming about. Erica brews the beers using old-world techniques, with a focus on farmhouse and belgian style ales, while Brian bakes naturally leavened sourdough with a focus on New York rye. Pair those loaves with the Hold Fire porter or In a Word, Intuitive smoked rye and some small bites like olives, hummus, and spiced nuts. Just note that their small summer biergarten is only open Friday through Sunday." - Keith Hernandez
