"Sticks'n'Sushi is a mini-chain with spots across London and calls itself a blend between “a Japanese traditionalist and a Danish anarchist”. What does that mean? It means that you can get some pretty solid maki topped with things like tuna and barbecue sauce, crispy kataifi, and trout roe. While it may not be traditional Japanese sushi, you should know that the rolls are consistently excellent. The Wimbledon location’s sleek interior is perfect for a romantic date night or a long-awaited catch-up when you’re planning on settling in for a couple of hours. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch" - Rianne Shlebak

Chinese restaurant · Fenchurch

"Thick, broad, hand-pulled noodles seasoned with chilli, garlic and Sichuan pepper, Xi’an Biang Biang noodles offer a delectable taste and texture. “Biang biang” relates to the onomatopoeic sound of the fat, flat dough strands as they’re stretched and shaken into shape. They hail from Shaanxi province. I am not an expert on the geographical nooks of China’s 9.6bn sq km, but I am a consummate professional at consuming large amounts of biang biang, savouring how their flat, sturdy, slippery surface gives great purchase to thrusts of garlic, oil, spring onion, ground chilli and peppercorn.
