"You can’t mix flavors at The Lemon Ice King of Corona, so you basically have to get two ices. We like that logic and so does your friend’s dad, the Queens native who grew up coming to this cash-only, corner spot near the Queens Zoo. They’ve been serving Italian ices from a walk-up window for over 60 years, and you’ll find a steady stream of lemon ice enthusiasts every night of the week. In addition to ices, large jars of beans line the wall, and not even the regulars seem to know why. The lemon ice is obviously a good choice (as is the cherry vanilla) and once you’ve got one of each, head to the park across the street and watch some bocce—there’s always a game going on." - Willa Moore
