Hidalgo’s is the Mexican restaurant you wish you lived next to - Review - Miami - The Infatuation

"From sunrise to sunset, Hidalgo’s is an outstanding Mexican restaurant. It opens early at 6am to feed Homestead workers heaping plates of chilaquiles, eggs, and refried beans. At lunch, gorditas and tacos fly from the kitchen on crowded trays. These are all great, but if you want to impress someone who claims Dade County doesn’t have great Mexican food, order the bubbling molcajete filled with steak, shrimp, and chicken. photo credit: Cleveland Jennings / @eatthecanvasllc photo credit: Cleveland Jennings / @eatthecanvasllc photo credit: Cleveland Jennings / @eatthecanvasllc Pause Unmute Service is fast and friendly, they don’t hold back on the spice (unless you ask them to), and their michelada could cure a three-day hurricane party hangover. It’s family-run, perfect for all three generations of your household, and our favorite place to get Mexican food in the county. Just know they close at 9pm. Food Rundown Michelada The copious amounts of crushed pepper and chili powder on the rim will make you sneeze like it’s mango blossom season, and the spice will clear your sinuses. In other words, this is a perfect michelada. photo credit: Cleveland Jennings / @eatthecanvasllc Molcajete Mixto You’ll want to clap and ask for help from surrounding tables when this bubbling volcanic mortar arrives at the table. There’s no way you’re eating through all the shrimp, chicken, and steak gurgling in spicy tomato sauce on your own. But please do order this if you have a friend.
