Oise Ristorante - Review - Wynwood - Miami - The Infatuation

"Oishe comes from the team behind Mr. Omakase (who are very good at sushi) and MaryGold's (who are really good at pasta). The menu here tries to combine both those strengths in the form of Itameshi, a term for Japanese and Italian fusion. Menu highlights include a pretty exceptional meatball blanketed with a foamy fondue espuma that sits on red miso-tomato sauce. The Italian sausage gyoza comes with a pepperoni dashi that does, indeed, have a subtle pepperoni flavor. Udon noodles are made into the shape of pappardelle for the truffle udon carbonara, which is great if you don’t mind the flavor of truffle. The menu does take leaps that don’t stick the landing—the nigiri doesn’t really benefit from its Italian accessories like basil oil. But enough dishes pass the Itameshi assignment to make for a unique, enjoyable dinner. This place is inside The Oasis, next to its sister restaurant Miss Crispy Rice. It’s more formal than the other vendors inside The Oasis, but you still order off your phone and sit in a shared space that feels like a mini food hall, so expect a fairly casual experience." - Ryan Pfeffer
