"We get it, Clark Street has so much going on that you might feel there’s no need to stray from it. But that’s wrong—just a few blocks west on Foster is a fantastic Guatemalan spot, Isabella Bakery. This small, counter-service place (it only seats eight), is open from 7am to 8pm. Come in the morning for a breakfast platter of eggs with salsa, cheese, plantains, and beans, stop by for a lunchtime shuco or tamale, or grab a concha to-go. Just make sure to search your cushions for change beforehand because they’re cash-only." - sam faye, adrian kane, john ringor
