"This North Portland institution from the 1930s is part old-school diner, part neighborhood dive, and it’s exactly the kind of spot that makes you grateful not everything in Portland has turned into a minimalist café with $8 pour-overs. The menu leans classic: perfectly crispy and golden hashbrowns, chicken fried steak smothered with creamy sausage gravy, and Bloody Marys made with heavy pours. On weekend mornings, expect bleary-eyed regulars fueling up in cozy booths. The bar side comes alive later. That’s when cheap beer flows, and pool tables and video slots are at max capacity.
