Leschi Market Review - Leschi - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Leschi Market has been a neighborhood grocery store and deli since 1948, and you can always count on this place for its big wine selection, and supply of snacks and beer for a Lake Washington boat day. Ironically, the best thing here is something you won't want to eat on the stern of a boat at all—the messy prime rib sandwich is best enjoyed in a sturdy, landlocked chair. This masterpiece is only available on Friday and Saturday evenings from the very back of the shop where the deli and meat counter is. The sandwich itself is pretty straightforward, with cuts of marbled beef you can read horoscopes in, all piled onto a ciabatta roll with tangy mustard smears. But it’s the Saran-wrapped container of au jus that’s the shining star, whether sopped up by bread or sipped straight out of the container. Next time you find yourself here, skip the variety pack seltzers and kettle chips, and head straight for the foil-wrapped meat." - Kayla Sager-Riley
