"Among the plushie animal pillows, twinkle lights, and faux vines attempting to be twee at this Sunset cafe, you’ll find fantastic, mostly Asian-influenced desserts. The menu at Oh Dessert Cafe is split between drinks, savory small plates, bingsoo, sweet toasts, thick, chewy mochi waffles, and airy cakes. Focus on the latter two. Both come in flavors like black sesame and ube as well as tea- and fruit-based versions like earl grey with blueberry or roasted banana. There’s a lot to choose from, but the pandan mochi waffles are required ordering in our book. They’re served with a side of dipping (read: pouring) kaya, cornflakes, and a bulbous scoop of vanilla ice cream. And since Oh is cash-only for orders under $25, go ahead and get that slice of ube mille crêpe, too." - Patrick Wong
