Pacific Dining Car - Review - Downtown LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"There aren’t many places in Los Angeles (or anywhere) where you can eat both a steak and an eggs benedict at 3am, but Pacific Dining Car is one of them. This restaurant that looks like a train dining car on the western edge of downtown has been open since 1921 (Mae West used to be a regular), and serves food 24 hours a day, seven days a week. And while the booth-filled room has the same dim lighting at any time of day, you should be here for the 10pm to 6am late-night menu, when the famous “baseball steak” - which looks sort of like a baseball and had a starring role in Training Day - is less than half the regular price. It might not be the best piece of meat you’ll get in LA, but it’s good enough, and the whole place somehow makes you feel like you’re on the set of a 30’s gangster movie." - Jess Basser Sanders
