It has a working fireplace, a big, beautiful back garden, flourishing house plants, and the confidence to paint a ceiling a dark moody blue. Despite being around since the 18th century, this boozer has undergone something of a Vinterior-esque facelift and is now the kind of stylish hangout that pairs pints of Blue Moon with serious interior design envy. Its location on the kind of picture-perfect Hampstead street that tourists probably think about every time someone mentions ‘scones’, also makes it an excellent place to escape London, without actually having to leave London. Order a pint and eavesdrop on sensational conversations about a victorious denial of the neighbour’s loft conversion planning permission.
