"Every town needs a reliably over-the-top bar, and in Denver, that thatched roof, puffer-fish-lighted tropical paradise is Adrift. Besides the requisite idol glasses and totems, it has an impressive roster of smart takes on beachy drinks that stay on the right side of “If you like piña colada” territory. You can expect your Painkiller to come crowded with orchid and pineapple crown garnishes, and the tart and boozy Scorpion Bowl to be full-on flaming. And don’t be afraid to come hungry; the Polynesian-inspired menu is better than it should be at a bar with this much bamboo, and the spam musubi is just $4 during "escape hour." - Allyson Reedy
