"Cosmica may be a relative newcomer, but it’s fast becoming the crown jewel of Salt Lake’s booming Central 9th neighborhood. Bring a group of friends who will appreciate the kitschy diner aesthetic of this playful Italian spot (there’s neon pink lighting and plates that could have been sourced from a long-shuttered Pizza Hut). Cosmica isn’t just vibes, though—there’s some seriously good stuff coming out of the kitchen. Start with the puffy bread and one of the city’s best Neapolitan pizzas before moving on to the pastas. We can’t stop thinking about the spaghettone, served al dente with just the right amount of fresh garlic, red sauce, and parmesan, from a recent visit. The shareable sides are a great way to sneak in some seasonal vegetables, but carbs are what you’re really here for." - Jenny Willden
