LaSorted's Pizza Chinatown - Review - Chinatown - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"We love the pizza at LaSorted’s, but their original location in Silver Lake is more or less a takeout window with a couple of sidewalk seats. And when the pizza is this good, sometimes you want a comfortable place to sit and eat it immediately. And that’s exactly what their Chinatown location provides. Located next to Cafe Triste on Broadway, the dining room is decked out with TVs, wooden tables, and enough Dodgers memorabilia to launch a museum. It’s not a sports bar per se, but if you want to watch sports with friends or slam some bubble-crusted pizza and a beer before heading up to Dodger Stadium, keep this place in mind. The menu is slightly smaller than the one in Silver Lake, but you’ll find all the heavy hitters like the Spicy But Oh So Sweet Boy with pepperoni and hot honey, plus a Chinatown-only beef hot dog squiggled with Philippe’s mustard. photo credit: Jessie Clapp Food Rundown “Tommy’s Way” Hot Dog If you’re at LaSorted’s between April and September (and hopefully October!), there’s a decent chance you’re headed to a Dodgers game afterward. Bring one of these bad boys with you. It’s a split all-beef dog with some Philippe’s mustard, so it’s not re-writing the hot dog history books, but it surely beats anything you’ll find at the stadium. photo credit: Jessie Clapp Lonely Guy Fries The “lonely guy” name is a bit of a misnomer, because every time we order these thin, crispy fries tossed with fried garlic and parmesan, we make new friends. Friends who only want us for our fries (and who apparently don't mind our garlic breath). photo credit: Jessie Clapp Kale Caesar You probably didn’t show up to LaSorted’s thinking you were going to eat kale, but this is not a salad to be ignored. No leaf is left untouched in the dressing and parmesan department and a healthy sprinkling of focaccia breadcrumbs means you’re getting a serious crunch in every bite. photo credit: Jessie Clapp Spicy But Oh So Sweet Boy It seems like every pizzeria has some version of a pepperoni + hot honey pizza on their menu these days. But this might be the best. The tiny pepperoni cups have crisp, charred edges, and though the hot honey is present, it’s not overdone. Also, saying “I’ll take the spicy-but-oh-so-sweet-boy” out loud is always a thrill. photo credit: Jessie Clapp The Little Tony Little Tony must’ve gotten his nickname as a kid, because there’s nothing dainty about this sandwich. It comes with a solid two inches of crispy, fried mortadella, creamy dijonaise, and gooey provolone dripping off the sides. If you aren’t in a pizza mood, this is your order. photo credit: Jessie Clapp The Ina We're not sure why this pizza is named after Ina Garten, but we do know that she’d love it. With a blend of mozzarella, provolone, and pecorino over sweet vodka sauce, plus a fragant layer of basil, it’s basically a classic cheese pie made more exciting. photo credit: Jessie Clapp" - Brant Cox
